I can confirm that this is a problem with ZFS, I saw it on a amd64
FreeBSD 8.0 install
using samba as a fileserver, the clients are windows xp.

a 14TB file would be created every time we would copy a file directly
from USB storage(plugged into a xp client)
and drag and drop it on a ZFS backed samba share.

I never could fix the problem... so I reformatted and installed
RELENG_8, and the problem never came back.
