I'm running 4.3-STABLE May 21 16:56:57 EDT 2001
and world and kernel built and installed fine ... 
If that's what you're asking.
Rarely, but occasionally, the -STABLE tree has problems. These are
normally fixed very quickly. I recommend re-cvsupping and trying again.
The problem is probably already fixed.
You can also use the date tag in cvsup to grab the exact version I
described above. (or any other date that you know works)
