Build /sys/modules/bios/vpd, install/load it, read the kernel output.  It
also provides all the information via sysctl:

# sysctl hw.vpd
hw.vpd.machine.type.0: 2645
hw.vpd.machine.model.0: 8BU
hw.vpd.build_id.0: INET36WW
hw.vpd.serial.box.0: 78PLGM9
hw.vpd.serial.planar.0: J1B369624W5
