There's a lot of sites on the web that can help you with things like 'vi' and 'emacs', one particular book I really like is: "Harley Hahn's Student Guide to Unix" which imo gives a very helpful guide to the UNIX user interface. Amazon has it here: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ISBN%3D0070254923/50webmasterscomA/104-3891535-9350026 I would also suggest you get a copy of "the complete freebsd" http://www.freebsdmall.com/books/#bsdcomp if you only have the CDrom it really helps. > sorry to trouble you... i'm just really excited to have unix > which sounds so legendary, yet very frustrated because i can't use > it.... thanx a lot for reading thus far... One thing we ask is that when sending questions to the email lists you set your mailer to wrap lines at 70 characters and use a more descriptive subject. -- -Alfred Perlstein - [bright@wintelcom.net|alfred@freebsd.org] To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-questions" in the body of the message
