On Mon, Mar 15, 1999 at 07:11:55AM +0100, a little birdie told me
that Ollivier Robert remarked

That doesn't work, because I do buildworlds and installworlds all over
the place across NFS from one build machine. Trying to keep track of
that would be a minor nightmare; it'd be easier to edit
src/usr.sbin/Makefile before each system (ugh ugh ugh). Same problem
faced with some other things (including newer versions of sendmail which,
for some godforsaken reason, install under /usr/sbin etc). Local
packages belong under /usr/local. If it's not in the base OS, it's a
local package.

Yes, it's an iffy case then if you should use /usr/local/etc or /etc for
config files... you can make some interesting arguments both ways. But
at the very least make it honor PREFIX so those of us who are trying to
keep systems sane can stick it under /usr/local, preferably by default.

Now, if we make Postfix the default in contrib/ and nuke sendmail, go for
it! ;-)
*ducks and runs*
