My experience with ARM and power management is that as the chips get
more recent, the voodoo hiding behind black boxes increases.

Qualcomm wouldn't even contemplate open sourcing the power management stuff.

I have more faith that the intel stuff will at least be sanely usable
by us OS hackers over what the multiplude of ARM vendors have given
us. It looks like a mess and I've only vaguely peripherally looked at
it.
