I'm happy to report that FreeBSD 5.3 BETA1 boots on a Compaq Proliant DL360 Dual PIII 800 with acpi enabled, as 5.2.1 didn't boot. 5.2.1 didn't crash, but got so slow at the end of booting the kernel that new lines took as much as 15 minutes to show up. It's never enough times to thank all the contributors to this project :)
