I have this problem as well on any alpha that I have installed 5.0RC2 on
(5305, 2100, 4000, Miata).

Just an FYI that it is not limited to Mr. Buckingham.

Yes, I have seen this before.  I think I may have a fix for it
though.  Need to test it locally on an i386 machine first.
