If possible, please avoid html-coding your messages by default.  It comes
across in the replies and requires editing to purge them.  Thanks.

You may need to reboot to teach the system about the shared libraries you
just installed.  The file should show up in /usr/X11R6/lib.

If nothing's in there, make sure you copied the X311lib.tgz and marked in
install to install it.

NFS is a specific protocol that's not set up by Windows by default.
