The spec did not say what its PATA speed is. Check your ATA setting:

 atacontrol list
 atacontrol mode $ACD0

Substitute $ACD0 as your device name show on probe list.
 
Make sure it is in UDMA2 or better  (not WDMA2 or PIO#).
If it is in PIO#, try to change it to

 atacontrol mode $ACD0 UDMA6

atacontrol will find a better fit for you.

If your device is in UDMA2 or better, can you send dmesg for your boot up?
