Clear out of the blue today, my FreeBSD 2.2.5 system decided to stop
booting with no keyboard. I have a small dos partition on the machine and
can give the following symptoms: Without the keyboard, booting into BSD
mode hangs right after the boot manager times out and auto selects
FreeBSD. If I plug a keyboard in after that, it continues. When booting
with DOS as default, it doesn't hang at all without the keyboard.

I don't know what's made it change after all these months, but I would
like to disable the keyboard probe. I've seen reports on the list of
endless loops related to this, and I think I might be a victim. Can
anyone describe to to fix this?

Thanks!
