Basically, there is none.  I spent some time looking at it, and finally 
concluded that there wasn't much to be gained (for me) from it, and moved 
on.  From a functional standpoint DMI doesn't actually offer us very 
much; ACPI is a closer match to our needs.

There are no active plans, no.

It'd be a good project to cut your teeth on, especially integrating the 
DMI information into a backend suitable for use with an SNMP server.
