>Description:
System: Dell XPS 600. 3.2 Ghz dual-core Intel Pentium-D.

Upgrading from 6.2 p9 to 7.0 revealed a possible regression in 6.3 and 7.0 for the NVidia C19 / ck804 (nForce4) chipset. On reboot into the 7.0 kernel, the system was unable to find the disks and failed just after the md0 mfsroot line.

The sysinstall for 6.3 and 7.0 is unable to recognize the CD\DVD and sata disk drives in the system.

The output of pciconf -lv Using a dsbsd live cd of 7.0 is shown below. "atacontrol list" shows ATA channel 0 thru 5; each one has master and slave with 'no device present'.

Other information is hard to gather since I have watchdog timeouts for the ethernet cards in this system. The pciconf -lv was hand typed but double checked for accuracy.

pciconf -lv

>How-To-Repeat:
Run the 6.3 or 7.0 sysinstall on a similar system. Or, use a working 6.2 system and upgrade to 6.3/7.0.
