Subject: Playing Audio cds in FreeBSD 2.1.5

I have recompiled the kernel in FreeBSD 2.1.5 for sound, and I believe that it
is working because doing a cat [soundfile] > /dev/audio gives me a sound.

But none of the various cd-playing applications recognize that there is a cd
in the drive. How can I get this to working?

TIA

Chris
