Sorry I see now it's not the main distribution. But the thing is I 
installed compat8x specifically 8.2.802000.201109 and it doesn't have 
libutil.so.8 or libz.so.5. Is garga still updating this port?

Just for my own knowledge are these libraries just the latest version 
binary copies from the previous versions of freebsd?  So basically just 
copy the latest old library from it's respective iso image into 
/usr/local/lib/compat/ and maybe a couple symlinks or is there more to it?
