I know, but I'm not sure yet what to do for those.  I want to get
rid of fd locking altogether by the threads library.  FILE will
have a lock and be MT-safe, but I don't see any need to have
the threads library provide locking for fds; it should be up
to the application.  Do we even want to mention that some calls
are renamed to __sys_foo?
