I reinstalled the base system and I found out the following: If I boot with the newly installed /usr in place I can login. Then I can move the /usr folder and mount my old /usr partition, set the lib paths with ldconfig and then everything works fine. If I boot using the old /usr partition I can't login and I am told my password is wrong. I don't get it.
