But if you don't already have a big commitment to Majordomo, you'd be better off using ezmlm with the ezmlm-idx patches. ezmlm is available from the same place you got qmail, and the ezmlm-idx patches are here: ftp://ftp.id.wustl.edu/pub/patches/ezmlm-idx-0.32.tar.gz.
