Seems I'm not the first one getting the Sun JDK 1.2.2 running on Linux, Lachlan, it's your honour :-) This is what I get when executing java -version for the Sun JDK 1.2.2: bash-2.03$ java -version /usr/local/sun-linux-jdk1.2.2/bin/java: /usr/bin/expr: not found /usr/local/sun-linux-jdk1.2.2/bin/java: /usr/bin/expr: not found Error: can't find libjava.so. bash-2.03$ When I do a find, I get: bash-2.03$ find /usr/local/sun-linux-jdk1.2.2 -name libjava.so /usr/local/sun-linux-jdk1.2.2/jre/lib/i386/libjava.so bash-2.03$ So it _should_ be able to find it IMO. This is my environment: bash-2.03$ set | grep "JAVA\|CLASS" CLASSPATH=:/usr/local/sun-linux-jdk1.2.2/jre/lib/rt.jar:/usr/local/share/java/classes/jsdk.jar:/usr/local/share/java/classes/activation.jar:/usr/local/share/java/classes/mm/mm.mysql.jdbc-2.0pre4/mysql_2_uncomp.jar:/usr/local/share/java/classes/psepro3/pro_g.jar:/usr/local/share/java/classes/psepro3/tools_g.jar:/home/ernst/java/lib CUSTOM_JAVA_LIBS=/home/ernst/java/lib JAVA_CLASSES_HOME=/usr/local/share/java/classes JAVA_HOME=/usr/local/sun-linux-jdk1.2.2 bash-2.03$ Any ideas? Probably something with LD_LIB_CONFIG or so?
