Been wondering about the same thing. I have set up vmnet1 to ip address
192.168.0.240 and the nic in my virtual win95 machine to 192.168.0.240
(same ip)

From win95 I am able to ping 192.168.0.240, but from FreeBSD I am not
able?

Same for me. I am not able to select bridge networking in vmware

I have enabled gateway in /etc/rc.conf
