That thread already evolved beyond the way i'd normally enter it for
any discussion, but:

Folks, if anybody's going to do _that_, please do not break the fixit
floppy!

That is, you _must_ add a compile-time option then that can avoid the
entire color mess, and whoever is doing it is responsible to add the
required stuff to /usr/src/release/Makefile etc. and to ensure (by
test-compiling it!) the fixit floppy will still fit.  (There are only
a few bytes left now, even too few to fit a camcontrol(8) into it, as
badly as we normally would need it.)

We've already handled Tcl and Perl extensions to vi(1) in about the
same way, since they would bloat vi beyond recognition otherwise.
