Hose numbers get lost behind bridges :(
You need to have all bridged cards at the same hose, or maybe even
hose 0.

I'm not surprised with this if you have an usb controller on another
hose.

I've seen something similar on rawhide with multiple bridged cards.
Another issue might be interrupt routing, but I think that's not a
problem on ES40.
