For the record, I got Jon Mini interested in writing a userconfig 
replacement when I find out that there was no userconfig anymore on 
current (and the extent of my lack of contact with current should be 
enough of an indicator of why I'm not doing it myself).

Since there seemed to be no further need, he went in another direction.
