I'm sorry to suggest the obvious, but the P2L97DS is an older board 
based on the LX chipset. Have you updated to the last bios? Also, I'm 
not sure if Asus ever intended that board to support that large of a 
drive. Hence the need for a bios upgrade to support it. (If possible)
