These are protected mode safe BIOS > calls and there is no good reason to not use them! Uh, Rod, According to "PCI BIOS SPECIFICATION, Revision 2.1, Aug 26 1994", they are optional. Also, they are not supported at all in 1.0 systems. There *is* a mechanism for detecting their existance, and if they exist, calling them is probably mandatory.
