Some of you may have seen my post before about how I could not get 5.x to boot on my laptop, it would simply lock while probing devices. I get something a little different now with a recent snapshot. $PIR: BIOS IRQ 10 for 1.4.INTA does not match link 0x61 irq 5 pci0: <PCI bus> on pcib0 Fatal trap 12: page fault while in kernel mode cpuid: 0; apic id = 00 fault virtual address = 0xe7e22 fault code = supervisor read, page not present instruction pointer = 0x8:0xc00e9d25 stack pointer = 0x10:0xc1021a9c frame pointer = 0x10:0xc1021a9c code segment = base 0x0, limit 0xfffff, type 0x1b DPL 0, pres 1, def32 1, gran 1 processor eflags = interrupt enabled, resume, IOPL = 0 current process = 0 (swapper) kernel: type 12 trap, code = 0 Stopped at 0xc00e9d25: cmpb %cs:0x1(%esi),%bl db> If this is a known bug I apologize, I was just suprised to get this far on boot of my laptop. -- David W.
