Is there more information about ppp than in the man pages? Where?

I installed 2.1 from the Walnut Creek CD-ROM. The install left
two kernels in / : kernel and kernel.GENERIC. They both seem to
operate identically.

According to the generic configuration file for building the kernel,
X should not be supported. But, it is working.
What configuration was used to build kernel?
Is there any way to find out exactly what is supported with the
full(exeverything) install from the CD-ROM?

Thanks
Kirk :)
