I don't think there have been critical bug fixes between beta6 and beta7 that affect the tiger. Also, on a 4GB machine, FreeBSD ignores RAM above 1GB. Jens, were you using a serial console ? FreeBSD doesn't support a VGA console yet on ia64. -Arun
