Maybe this should be a general freebsd question, but I have noticed that when I try to do a normal ftp session I seem to be in passive more. e.g. ftp> ls 227 Entering passive mode (.....) Now I did not use pftp or ftp -p or anything like that, so I would expect passive mode to be 'off' by default. It appears to be on.
