The eMMC is soldered onboard and comes with preinstalled Linux, but is first in boot order. To boot from SD card you need to push a button each time, changing boot order. The least thing you want to have is being able to write zeros to the eMMC to get rid of it's Linux and that the system boots from SD by default.
