Not really, it's more like a workaround. Linux is by no means a solution
to crappy hardware. Especially since you can just use the linux X server
under FreeBSD's Linux emu. FreeBSD's Linux emulation ran the RedHat i740
Xserver for me for about 2 months without a problem. (Before 3.3.4 came
out that is.) So I would suggest just using that, and then when the next
XFree86 comes out, you'll be set. Also, I think the latest XFree86 4.0
snapshot supports your card.
