Sorry folks, I can't follow which messages are private and which are to
the list any more, but I found out I got this bit wrong:

It means "I suppose the SYSV extensions are probably...", not that they
have to be included before X can be run.

Anyway, the SYSV stuff isn't mentioned in my 2.2.2 GENERIC but for
2.2-STABLE, one of the three (SYSVSHM) has been put in at the end
of GENERIC, so KDE only complained to me about missing SYSVMSG (until I
gave it what it wanted).

Without it, several graphical KDE apps wouldn't run, nor would the main
KDE help or any of the help associated with any of the KDE apps, which
means missing one of its most reassuring features (after learning to
leave them alone for fear of the K Screen of Death).
