when i set in BIOS my parallel port (it's IBM thinkpad T23 if it matters) to standard paraller port it is detected fine ppc0: <Standard parallel printer port> port 0x3bc-0x3be irq 7 on acpi0 ppc0: Generic chipset (NIBBLE-only) in COMPATIBLE mode ppbus0: <Parallel port bus> on ppc0 lpt0: <Printer> on ppbus0 lpt0: Interrupt-driven port when it's changed it ECP mode with dma 0, ppc attaches fine too (detects dma etc), ppbus attaches fine bvut lpt doesn't show up. no errors just no messages. any idea?
