As Sheldon was kind enough to mention, I've put a lot of work into cleaning those files up, and I'm pretty familiar with the overall organization (or lack thereof :). However, the fact that no one seems to "own" that fileset reinforces the need for review by a larger body. There are plenty of other people besides myself who have a fairly solid handle on how things fit together with the rc files. > > This is particularly important in light of the strongly supported > > proposal to import a version of netbsd's dependency system. > > There is strong support, but is any one actually taking the lead on it? Without making an iron clad promise, I just got approved for some "mental health" vacation days, so I plan to take New Year's week off. One of the things on my list to do during that period is to get out the shoehorn and try to at least get a grip on the magnitude of the problems involved in the porting. This is not to say that if someone else can get to it before then they are not welcome to it.
