Afaf Jbara>Please hereby you will find somespecifications concerning the wireless Afaf Jbara>cards i have, and i would really appreciate your help! Look at the /sys/i386/conf/LINT Then there is some hope in the GENERIC kernel; ### # WaveLAN/IEEE 802.11 wireless NICs. Note: the WaveLAN/IEEE really # exists only as a PCMCIA device, so there is no ISA attatement needed # and resources will always be dynamically assigned by the pccard code. #device wi # Aironet 4500/4800 802.11 wireless NICs. Note: the declaration below will # work for PCMCIA and PCI cards, as well as ISA cards set to ISA PnP # mode (the factory default). If you set the switches on your ISA # card for a manually chosen I/O address and IRQ, you must specify # those paremeters here. #device an ##### From the above extract, it seems to me that if you set your card to pnp (via jumpers I suppose) then the declaration 'device an' will help...I'm not sure if that only works for Cisco Aironets (sorry I come from a country where I am sure noone is running these thins, and I am only reading about them recently too..)... I'm optimistic someone in this list will help you....in FreeBSD they do talk about supported devices ;-) Afaf Jbara> Afaf Jbara>Digital Afaf Jbara>RoamABout Afaf Jbara>Wireless LANs Afaf Jbara>DEIRA-DA FH/ISA Afaf Jbara>REV: A Afaf Jbara>Fcc ID : IMKCHISA-100 Afaf Jbara>Canada 192 C157A Afaf Jbara>1995 Digital Equipment Corporation Afaf Jbara> Afaf Jbara>thank you, Afaf Jbara> Afaf Jbara>Afaf Jbara Afaf Jbara>School of Science and Engineering Afaf Jbara>Al Akhawayn University in Ifrane Afaf Jbara>Morocco Afaf Jbara> Afaf Jbara> Afaf Jbara> Afaf Jbara>To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org Afaf Jbara>with "unsubscribe freebsd-questions" in the body of the message -- Odhiambo Washington Systems Administrator Inter-Connect Ltd. 3rd Flr The Chancery Valley Rd PO Box 39519 Nairobi, KENYA Tel: 254 2 711140 Fax: 254 2 718418 Man forgives woman anything save the wit to outwit him. -Minna Antim To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-questions" in the body of the message
