Hello, Having an el cheapo Alpha PC AXPpci33, 167MHz board laying around for quite some time and tried installing Linux to it some time ago to no avail. Yesterday I upgraded to the latest SRM console version, booted from 3.3 RELEASE kern and mfsroot flop and installed an minimum installation in one go, without any problem... (having no experience with DEC/Alpha whatsoever) Great work you guys (and girls?) ! It's a nice machine for an ISP connection and mailserver at home I think. I have no cache chips installed, it that worth the money? Anyone have a comparison of the performance? With and without?
