I am confused about the package collections for 4.4-RC3 and 4.4-RC4. A
listing of /pub/FreeBSD/ports/i386 shows:

...
drwxrwxr-x  75 1006  1006   1536 Sep  7 00:02 packages-4.4-rc3
drwxr-xr-x  75 1006  1006   1536 Sep  5 04:59 packages-4.4-rc4
lrwxrwxrwx   1 1006  1006     16 Sep  7 10:59 packages-4.4-release -> packages-4.4-rc4
...

Notice that packages-4.4-rc3 is more recent that packages-4.4-rc4. OTOH we
can see in /pub/FreeBSD/releases/i386/4.4-RC4:

lrwxrwxrwx  1 1006  1006       36 Sep  7 05:08 packages -> ../../../ports/i386/packages-4.4-rc3

so that the package collection symlinked from 4.4-RC4 is packages-4.4-rc3
instead of packages-4.4-rc4.

I would be thankful if someone could explain that.

  Cheers,
  JMA
