I didn't check your link because reading the FreeBSD page was the first
thing I did to learn about kernel debugging, even before the man page.

Ctrl-Alt-ESC."

Well, my problem with that passage is that that wasn't the key. Ok, so
Crtl-Alt-ESC does not work, what now? I admit I didn't check us.iso.kbd,
which, in retrospect, I should have done, because the keyboard map I was
using was created based on us.iso.kbd (I know, I created it). So, tell me
something, in a vanilla system (ie., without any changes you my have made),
is Crtl-Alt-ESC "debug" in us.iso.kbd (supposing that's the keyboard
referenced by "usually", since "usually" did not apply to _my_ keyboard)?
(Don't bother checking -- I just did, from ftp.freebsd.org, and it is not.)

So, my issue was, I *had* to change it, or at least discover *what* key was
associated with it. Or, in other words, precisely what you are saying was
not my issue.

Now, you may have taken an issue with my statement that "worse of all was
the handbook". It should be stated here that this relates _exclusively_
with the "how do I enter ddb" issue. Aside from this issue, the handbook
was as usual as ever, and in no time (after UTSLing the debug key) at all I
was debugging my driver.
