That explains a lot.

I had a vi recovery file hanging around when it happened.
A mail message about this got delivered when i enabled sendmail.
After i recovered the file the error message dissappeared.

Yes, this must have been the problem :) (100% sure)

qmail doesn't use the same command line options as sendmail
and generated the error message.

Thanks, now it's clear to me what happened :)
