For me the following worked. To migrate from perl 5.20 to perl 5.24 with synth you need: 1. add to /etc/make.conf: DEFAULT_VERSIONS+= perl5=5.24 2. run: synth upgrade-system 3. if you had a brute-force abort of synth in your pre-history, you might need to run the previous command twice.
