Current 3.0 kernel does'nt use Pentium-enchanced bcopy in case of SMP. I recall that it was connected with some problems in FPU usage in SMP case. Is it feasible to try it today ? On my Gateway GA-586DX with two P-133 famous dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/null bs=1m count=100 shows ~56MB/s in SMP case vs. ~117MB/s in UP case ;-) N.Dudorov
