billf@jade$ locate squeak |grep usr/ports/lang |grep Makefile |grep -v files
/usr/ports/lang/squeak/Makefile
/usr/ports/lang/squeak2/Makefile

Both ports currently exist. The author is saying that squeak is no longer
needed as squeak2 replaces it.

A cvs remove doesn't loose the history of the file at all.

And the remove/add which you speak of is a repository copy, in which a
replica is made, and then the original is cvs remove'd to keep the
history. Otherwise, we'd just re-import.
