Folks, I've taken the discussions we had (okay, that I started) on the high points of the BSDL, and churned them into an article. I would appreciate any commentary anyone might have before I start to shop it around. Unlike boring techie articles, a pure advocacy piece like this needs to have nice, clear-cut logic or the author will be flamed into a billion little crusty bits. (With clear-cut logic, the author will be flamed into only a million little crusty bits; that's enough to reassemble.) I'm not going to post it to the whole list; publishers, even most ezines, don't like that. But I'll happily send you a copy upon request. Be warned, it's about 1500 words.
