Try enabling/uncommenting Emulate3Buttons and Emulate3Timeout in
/etc/XF86Config. Restart X, select some text, push both buttons
at the same time to paste the selected text.

IMHO, if you perform a lot of "cut-n-paste", you would benefit from
the acquisition of a three-button mouse.
