Right, I should have. The system has been on a UPS all this time. We had
severe thunderstorms the day before, and there were multiple power hits
that day, lasting less than a second each. But this was several hours
prior to the hang (the logs *do* tell me that the machine ran its 2am
cron stuff without incident).
