It's not possible (at least according to XF86) to use linear addressing on
ISA with >=16 megs of RAM.I did this once and wound up losing /etc and
most of /usr/local/bin .... very nasty. If you in fact do discover a way
around this I'm sure everyone using a Cirrus Logic chip would love to know
what you did.
