My PPP conection is dying after connecting if I don't connect using term. uname -a FreeBSD p6m7g8.student.umd.edu 4.0-RELEASE FreeBSD 4.0-RELEASE #14: Wed May 10 22:25:06 EST 2000 p6m7g8@p6m7g8.student.umd.edu:/usr/src/sys/compile/PHILIP i386 I have configured and can run user-ppp fine. relevant part(s) of the ppp.conf file default: set log Phase Chat LCP IPCP CCP tun command set device /dev/cuaa1 set speed 115200 set dial "ABORT BUSY ABORT NO\\sCARRIER TIMEOUT 5 \"\" AT OK-AT-OK ATE1Q0 OK \\dATDT\\T TIMEOUT 40 CONNECT" umcp: set phone 3012090700 set login set authname gollucci set authkey Smgellar set timeout 500 set ifaddr 10.0.0.1/0 10.0.0.2/0 255.255.255.0 0.0.0.0 add default HISADDR enable dns su-2.03# ppp Working in interactive mode Using interface: tun1 ppp ON p6m7g8> load umcp Warning: Add route failed: default already exists ppp ON p6m7g8> term <login> <pass> bay/annex#1> telnet xxx.umd.edu <login> etc... works fine this uses the CLI protocol.. however if I drop to back to PPP and add! default HISADDR my connection drops after approximate 5 seconds after I make any other conection.
