Because 1) RFC 2822 says that the reply-to belongs to the author,
which the list most certainly isn't, and 2) our mailers aren't broken.

Gee, I just hit "f" or "F", and it picks up all the addresses. No
problems, no fumbling.

SOP on this list is to leave everyone in the headers. That's because a
lot of people ask questions on this list who aren't subscribers, and
we don't want the person who actually needs the information to get
dropped. That's why you got two of the copies.

The third copy was because you sent the mail from <amckay@istop.com to
amckay@quay.net, which is presumably also you, cc'ed to the list. I
had no way of knowing which address you wanted the reply to go to, so
I sent it to both.

SOP also says you're going to get two copies of this one - one direct
from me, and one through the list. That's the price of being a
subscriber. You either put up with it, or set your mailer up to remove
duplicates.

This comes up every so often. It isn't going to change. Nuts, I can't
even get things that are really broken fixed.
