Also try and locate the problem in /var/log/Xorg.0.log This is a generic configuration: Section "InputDevice" Identifier "mouse" Driver "mouse" Option "Protocol" "Auto" Option "Device" "/dev/sysmouse" Option "ZAxisMapping" "4 5" Option "Buttons" "5" EndSection You may need to change the "Indentifier" line, see your ServerLayout.
