Hi.

The user-ppp (/usr/sbin/ppp) is STILL broken.

My PPPoE connection doesn't work since a cvsup about a week ago.

I cvsuped a MINUTE ago, and did mergemaster, kernel and ppp compilation,
STILL THE SAME THING, BROKEN !

My NEW - BROKEN ppp show version ---> 2.3.2 - Jul 28 2001
My OLD - WORKING ppp show version --> 2.3.1 - Jun 26 2001

Many patches have been added since them, many *tricks* have been
said on this list, tryed ALL of them, removed ipfilter, removed the mtu/mru
line (indeed it uses 1492, pppoe limitation), but NONE worked.

My broken PPP.LOG
----
00:17:04 tun0: Phase: deflink: carrier -> login
00:17:04 tun0: Phase: deflink: login -> lcp
00:17:06 tun0: Phase: deflink: Too many LCP REQs sent - abandoning
negotiation
00:17:06 tun0: Phase: deflink: Disconnected!
---

If I run the old-ppp program, it works 110% ok, same ppp.conf, same kernel,
same EVERYTHING, no changes are need whatsoever. So I don't think it's
some kind of problem in rc.network, ipfilter, or things like that (may be,
indeed,
as I haven't found the problem myself yet)

I heard the new ppp progarm don't use the mru/mtu line, but is this causing
some
kind of problem ? PPPoE needs 1492 instead of 1500. Just thinking...

Anyone with a working solution ? Or a problem like that ?

Thanks
Duwde
